“What do you want from me, Kai?”

“For starters?” His voice lowered to sexy, dangerous depths. “I want to introduce myself to every freckle on your body.”

My Summary:

Anna Whitt has always been the ultimate good girl but since turning 16 and meeting Kaidan Rowe her life is about to change.

She can see and feel other people’s emotion and has a strong pull towards danger. She doesn’t understand why but she will now.

The son and daughters of fallen angels are born to be bad influences.

Could Anna be the only exception?

Our Thoughts:

Miedjel: When I first found this book in Goodreads, after I read the synopsis, I instantly knew that I would want to read this book. I mean come on who wouldn’t want to read about a bad boy and a good girl together. When I started to read this book, I couldn’t let it go! It was just that good! I love how Wendy Higgins wrote this book. There was no boring moments!!!

Erika: Miedjel and my cousin adore this series but with me not really into paranormal, I didn’t put it in my top to be read list. But that didn’t stop them from raving which made me excited, expectant and kind of nervous too because being so attached to characters is such a great feeling but having to move on hurts. I sound so dramatic but it’s totally true. Thanks to their fangirling, I finally decided to read it. My only regret is not reading this sooner. Oh boy, every single thing they said were true.

“I know I’m just a human woman, but so help me, if anything happens to her while she’s with you—“

“I assure you she’ll be in good hands.”

“Mm-hm, that’s part of what I’m worried about.” She pointed at his hands. “Hands off, mister.”

Miedjel: Of course it was true! Honestly, Erika, I couldn’t believe you when you didn’t instantly read it after I described Kaiden to you and how the book just blew my mind away… literally! Believe it or not I’m still finding some of the pieces…

Erika: *picks up brain gunk* *hands it over to Miedjel* I believe you, Miedjel. I believe. Anna is both shy yet feisty. The good and bad girl. She is the type of good girl who tells the teacher when she forgets to collect homework which is something I would never do. If I was her classmate, I might have (more like surely) given her the bitch look. But because she’s pretty, she still gets invited to parties where she doesn’t like attending because she has this extremely strong pull towards “evil” things.

Miedjel: Wait, Erika are you describing me? *sigh* Erika! you’re suppose to be describing Anna :p Anyway, I absolutely love Anna, I love that she’s brave and not at the same time how. Is that even possible?! I love that she’s not a nerd. Just a super good girl. Oh, Erika, I wouldn’t give her the bitch look I’d just throw something at her. I also like it that she isn’t the drop dead gorgeous pretty.

Erika: Okay, Miedjel, Anna is like you. *sarcastic voice* Stop throwing things at people. Please!!! She has a best friend named Jay. A total cutie. I don’t usually believe in platonic girl and boy best friends but Anna and Jay are an exception. Jay is so protective of her and sweet, I actually wanted there to be something with them but there isn’t so I’m very jealous of their relationship. Jay is such a great guy BUT then I meet Kaidan.

“He was smoking hot. As in H-O-T-T, hott. I’d never understood until that moment why girls insisted on adding an extra t. This guy was extra-t-worthy.”

Miedjel: You know I’m just joking, Erika! (not) lol Unlike Erika, I didn’t want anything between Jay and Anna because I like how Wendy Higgins didn’t use the cliche that the best friend guy likes the best friend girl but that girl likes somebody else. I like how she showed that Jay just really is Anna’s “older brother”. Anna being a total saint needed support and somebody to watch her while waiting for her knight and shining armor *drum roll pls* Mr. Kaidan Rowe!

“Which was your favorite place?”

“I’ve never been terribly attached to any place. I guess it would have to be… here.”

“The Texas panhandle?” I asked.

“No.” He seemed to choose each word with deliberate care. “I mean here in this car. With you.”

Kaiden is the son of lust. Let us take a moment to let my last 4 words sink in. *moment’s over* Kaiden Rowe, let me just tell you, is the epitome of Hot. His name is hot, his body is hot, his accent is hot, and his personality is hot. Honestly, guys his husband goals, like legit. Nuff said.

Erika: K A I D A N. I’m dead. Honestly (we are very honest girls apparently) guys, I’ve read a lot of books and fell in love with a lot of guys but Kaidan renders me breathless when he speaks. He oozes sexiness and it’s killing me. I don’t curse but I feel like the only way for me to give justice to how hot he is is by cursing. It’s that intense. Anna and Kaidan’s first meeting started as a staring contest which possibly melted Antarctica. But his hotness is not enough, he just had to be a musician. Yeah, thanks for the heart attack Wendy!

Anna can feel and see people’s emotions which could be both a positive and negative thing. Imagine meeting someone who you can’t hide how you feel. That’s a bit scary even for me who’s very much an open book but I still like to keep my feelings to myself once and a while… except for now. I want to shout to the world how much I love Kaidan.

Anna doesn’t understand why she has powers and who she really is so Kaidan helps him out. She is such a lucky girl. But Kaidan’s denial of his feelings is driving me insane. He keeps trying to push Anna away but its so obvious that he likes her. No need to be a genius to figure that one out! Come on, Kai. I know you’re trying to do the right thing but it’s so terrible seeing the both of you apart. If I could just glue the two of you together, I swear I would. It would probably kill me cause every time they interact, it’s too intense for my life and I want Kaidan for myself but for the good of all I’m willing to compromise.

“Good gracious, he was sexy—a word that had not existed in my personal vocabulary until that moment. This guy was sexy like it was his job or something.”

Miedjel: Lets talk about them together now. THEY’RE THE BEST COUPLE EVER. I’M SERIOUS. THEY MAKE ME SUPER JEALOUS. I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHY THEY’RE FICTIONAL! Ok, my rampage is over. They just really make me passionate you know like I’m part of their world and I’m experiencing everything that they are experiencing. It’s just wonderful.

Erika: The sons and daughters of Fallen Angels are so gorgeous that when I look at myself in the mirror, I’d cry. Kaidan is already too much then we get introduced to Blake and Kopano. Kopano speaks like he lives in the 1800’s with no contractions and all which is so endearing. He also has this thing with Anna… Anna just has to get all the guys. *sigh*

Angels and demons are such an interesting subject. Wendy’s interpretation is one of my favorites! The way she used the seven deadly sins into Demon leaders and having sons who work depending on their sin specialty is just pure genius! You’ll understand more of it when you read it. Yes, you should read it.

The characters here are diverse which I love. One of them is born in the Philippines. I always fangirl when I see the Philippines being mentioned in books! It feels great. I adore writers who are diverse.

Miedjel: The plot of this story is really good as I’ve said above there were no boring moments. I super liked that this series had something to do with God. It’s the first book that I’ve encountered that really gave the Scriptures justice. I was very awed how Wendy Higgins added God and fictional characters together in this modern time so well. She didn’t write it like she was preaching you know and I’m just so amazed and grateful to her that she wrote a book with everything that I love in it. This book is really good guys and you should give it a chance.

“Besides, unrequited love is one of those things that all teen-agers have to go through, right?”

Erika: This book will seriously drive you crazy. Consider yourself warned. I don’t even know why this book is underrated. It deserves to be known to the world! The ending broke my heart…. It can’t be that way I don’t believe it. I need to know more.
