Bookish Adventures: Tahereh Mafi, Ransom Riggs and Veronica Rossi’s Book Signing Tour

Throwback to our very first book signing! 04/26/14

Erika: We’ve been looking forward to this event since we knew about it, so before the day (April 26) arrived we planned what time we would be there so we could be first in line. We were saying that we should arrive at around 7:30am to 8am– for sure we would be in front of the line because the mall doesn’t even open till 10am.

Miedjel: SUPER EXCITED!!!

Erika: We woke up 6am (which kind of sucks because it’s summer for us and I slept at around 3am so I only had 3 hours of sleep but the adrenaline was pretty much pumping which was the reason I was able to look alive the whole day)

Miedjel: Yeah, I slept around the same time and I agree the only reason I was still walking was the adrenaline but the looking alive part I’m not sure… I think I was just a walking zombie. In case you didn’t notice, I’m not a morning person.

Erika: I know, Miedjel. I know… When we arrived, our worst nightmare happened. The line was so freaking long!

There were already about 200 people. We felt so disappointed thinking we outsmarted everyone by arriving two hours earlier than the mall opening but guess what.. it seemed like the whole universe outsmarted us! (pretty much shows how naive we were to book signing events, we’ve only been to a few– 2 to be exact, so I didn’t expect this when we arrived)

Miedjel: I thought we were going to be the only people but when we went to the mall we saw this long line as in legit long and we were like is that the line?!

Erika: The mall was still closed..

Erika: This is our *what the hell were we thinking, we should have arrived at 12 midnight, were sad face*

Miedjel: LOL!:)

Erika: This is us trying to look happy despite the failure that started our day.

Erika: So we waited and then we found out that there was a sign taped in front of National Bookstore…

A registration for early birds at 9am! WOW! We didn’t even know. Thanks a lot for informing us National. If we had known we would have arrived earlier..

Once we were inside the mall, every store was still close.

and the line already looked like this. Intense.

We end up being 250++ which didn’t shock us. The moment we reached the registration. We were just so happy to be there!

Erika: Then, the moment has arrived to meet the authors!!!

Miedjel: Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!

Erika: Ransom! He is soooooo tall like really tall (and definitely cute). He is nice and so funny. We gave him a letter in hot neon pink envelope and he was like, “So pink.” We were like “Its us. We love pink!!” and we said that he was cool and we hugged him. Best moment.

Miedjel: Yeah, Ransom was super nice and funny as in funny and when we hugged him, this was my train of thought:

mind: Let go, Miedjel! Let go or else he’ll think were one of those crazy fangirls!!

Me: *whiny voice* but we are crazy fangirls and he’s just sooo hot and smells soooo good!!

mind: *crazy parental voice* Let go now! and why the hell are you smelling Ransom?

Me: *sigh* mumbles: It’s not my fault he smells sooo good. *lets go*

Erika: We literally squealed while saying a lot of incoherent things about Warner when we saw Tahereh!!! But then the dude who was assisting her with the books actually told us to “chill.” HELLO!! HOW CAN WE FREAKING “CHILL” WHEN ONE OF OUR FAVORITE AUTHORS IS RIGHT INFRONT OF OUR FACE! It’s like he doesn’t even understand which annoys the hell out of me!!!!

Tahereh doesn’t really talk much. She seems shy so she just smiled at us and sort of shrugged and apologized for the way the dude was acting. But nevertheless, I love her.

Miedjel: OMG!!! I seriously got soooooo pissed at the person assisting her cause what the hell right what did you expect from two teen girls?! Does he expect us to be so calm and collected and say, “Ms. Mafi I adored your book. It was exquisite.” in a straight face and that irritating voice people use when they are trying to sound sophisticated!!

Didn’t expect her to be that quiet which made me kind of sad but still love her books.

Erika: Veronica is pretty, down to earth and soooo nice. I’m telling you guys, when you meet her you’ll know what I mean. Even though you only get to meet her for a few seconds because of the time constraints she makes you feel important and actually does small talk. An author doing small talk! I know right. I love her. THE BEST PART IS SHE CALLED US ADORABLE. FREAKING ADORABLE. The moment she said that I felt even more adorable and wanted to say, “Stop it, you.” but of course I stopped myself cause that would have been embarrassing.

Miedjel: Veronica is sooo talented, nice, down to earth and she’s pretty too. I would be green with envy but I cant cause she’s just sooo freaking nice and she said my name was cool. Can you believe that! Wouldn’t you want to read a great book with a great author??? Isn’t that well, great?! Oh, and Veronica thinks were adorable take that world!!!

Erika: After all the books were signed, we just let it all sink in. Here are pictures of how happy we were and how much we love them. Can’t wait for more book signings!!

Miedjel: Yeah, over all, it was amazing, tiring but worth it!! 🙂

Til the next signing!!!

Since then, we’ve attended a lot of other book signings! We’ll be posting them one by one here and hopefully more of our bookish adventures ❤

How cool! Great post! I wish I got to hug Ransom haha. He’s so cute (and married haha). I’m so glad you guys had a great time. I went to a Stephenie Meyer signing and it wasn’t as packed. Maybe no one liked SM in Miami or something lol. This makes me want to make a post on it, too!
